The sci-tech cooperation between Russia and China was discussed in Moscow
30 November 2016, the Conference on industrial and sci-tech cooperation between Chinese entities of Heilongjiang province, China and Russian entities took place in the hotel “Radisson Royal, Moscow (Ukraine)”. The event was arranged by the Office of foreign affairs of the National government of the Heilongjiang province with support of the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
More than 2000 Russian and Chinese entities, interested in development and strengthening of cooperation between two countries in the industrial area, science and technology, participated in the conference. The representatives of the state departments and agencies, administration of the Chinese province, the representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, from Leningrad region and the CCI of Heilongjiang province as well, Chinese diplomats, scientists, representatives of research establishments, businessmen attended the event from both countries. The companies from St. Petersburg and Leningrad region more than others were interested in the conference. With support of LRCCI the event was attended by representatives of the companies LLC Turboenergoremont, LLC Logistics North European Gas Pipeline, LLC START Development, financial company Grottbjorn, LLC Difans Media, LLC Farmacor. As guests of honor from the Chinese side at the event were the Ambassador of China in Russian Federation Mr. Li Huey and the Vice Governor of Heilongjiang province Mr. Hou Yafeng.
Within the intensive program participants discussed the modernization of industry, a trade and investment cooperation and expansion of bilateral interaction. The Chinese delegation presented the Heilongjiang province, located in a northeast part of China. The province borders on Russia on the Amur and Ussuri rivers, having a total length of border more than 3500 km. The close neighborhood determines the aspiration to develop and expand economic interaction of two countries. The trade and economic cooperation between the Heilongjiang province and Russia develops quickly. In recent years, the average annual commodity turnover between partners increased by 30%.
It was declared that today the sci-tech cooperation can become one of the leading trends. It means that the scientific technology becomes an important factor of the province’s economy development at the present stage. It is planned that scientific and technical progress should provide over 50% of GDP growth, and in some areas the scientific technology should reach the leading international level. As mentioned Mr. Hou Yafen, the purpose of this event is improving the relations with Russia in science and technology, and coordination and innovations of a scientific and technical industry, in turn, will help to advance upgrade of the industry and to stimulate acceleration of trade development, economic and investment communications.
On behalf of the Leningrad region Chamber of Commerce and Industry the conference was attended by the head of Foreign economic relations department of LRCCI Lilia Arakelova who presented the Leningrad region and its main directions of economic development. During the presentation Lilia Arakelova addressed the issues of a sci-tech cooperation of China with St. Petersburg and Leningrad region. The major role in development and strengthening of this cooperation is played by LRCCI. Today the chamber has 8 agreements with Management of commerce of the Hebei Province, LLC Northwest logistics company, the Chinese machine-building federation, Chamber of exporters and importers Taipei, Bureau on commercial affairs of Wuxi, Council for the Promotion of International Trade of Xiamen, the Chinese metallurgical city department of Vuan.
B2B meetings became an important part during the negotiation between the Chinese entrepreneurs and representatives of the Russian companies producing equipment goods, the electronic equipment, the software, foodstuff and consumer goods. This event enabled strengthening business contacts and establishing partnership with the Chinese entrepreneurs.
The Heilongjiang province representatives and Russian members signed an agreement on scientific and technical and industrial cooperation. Thus, there is a perspective for long-term and fruitful cooperation between the two countries, and also interest of the Chinese and Russian entrepreneurs in the dialogue.
